Large building fire erupts in south suburbs — Chicago Technology news

A massive fire erupted at a building in south suburban Blue Island on Saturday, sending heavy flames and smoke pouring from the structure. The fire broke out before 5 p.m. near Union and Western streets. The building houses both a pet groomer and a music school, though it was unclear where the fire started. Video captured at the scene and posted on the Citizen app showed flames and thick smoke pouring from the second floor. Blue Island’s city administrator said around 6 p.m. that the Blue Island Fire Department was working with neighboring agencies to extinguish the blaze. No injuries or fatalities had been reported. Additional information was not immediately available.
